Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) are a new type of organization that is built on blockchain technology. DAOs are not controlled by any one person or group, but instead are governed by a set of rules that are encoded into the blockchain.
This makes DAOs very transparent and accountable, as anyone can see how the organization is being run.DAOs can be used to protect land in a number of ways. For example, a DAO could be used to buy land that is under threat from development or deforestation. The DAO could then manage the land in a sustainable way, such as by planting trees or creating a nature reserve.
On how to track beauty
To understand the full range of diversity present in Chirripo, we decided to follow Alexander von Humboldts approach by cartographing the land and document its flora, fauna and landmarks.
